About Us
A-VOYCE stands for Asian Voices for Organized Youth for Community Empowerment. We’re a youth leadership development program that advocates the Chinatown Community through radio show, walking tours, and ultimately our voices.
A-VOYCE brings high school students together from all over the Greater Boston area to use their voices in affecting positive change in the community through the power of dialogue and storytelling. Youth ages 13-19 serve to emphasize on low-income, affordable housing in the Greater Boston area with Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC).
Mission Statement: Our mission is to bring high school students together to use their voices in affecting positive change in the community through the power of dialogue and storytelling.
A-VOYCE is part of the Asian Community Corporation Program. We participate in many of their affordable housing projects such as Parcel 24.
The youth are trained through a year-long program that begins with a comprehensive ten-session community development and cultural identity training curriculum. The curriculum includes lessons on the history of urban renewal and community development, guest speakers from the Chinatown community, interactive creative workshops and peer trainings by youth from other community and non-profit groups.
